MAC Fast Play Lipstick.

Hello beautiful readers! As you all know that we are celebrating MAC lipstick week on our blog, in which we are going to review a MAC lipstick everyday on our blog for this entire week! We have already reviewed six MAC lipsticks and today we're going to come up with another brilliant shade for you guys!

The MAC lipstick to be reviewed today is "Fast Play".

Before moving on with the review I would like to tell you that MAC lipsticks come in nine different finishes, which are as follows:

  1. Amplified
  2. Amplified Creme
  3. Cremesheen
  4. Frost
  5. Glaze
  6. Lustre
  7. Matte
  8. Retro Matte
  9. Satin

REVIEW:

Fast Play is an Amplified Creme finish lipstick. Now the question stands that what exactly does Amplified Creme finish means? These lipsticks give opaque coverage similar to the matte formula, but are much less drying. They are very creamy and soft-textured lipsticks. Amplified and Amplified Creme fall in the same category. Even though they have incredible coverage and opacity, they are not completely matte and they last a long time too. So if a matte finish is not your cup of tea, I would definitely recommend you this or a Cremesheen finish.

Fast Play is a neutral pink as suggested by MAC . When I first saw the colour in the tube and first applied it on my lips it did not at all co relate. The colour in the tube looks more of a pink with brown undertones, but on my brownish pink lips this colour shows up more of a brown with plum undertones. Definitely not one of my favourites. I feel that on my Asian skin tone it makes my over all complexion look kind of dull because the colour is more towards brown. I am not some one who wear browns often, although pinkish browns are a favourite but this one doesn't show any signs of pink on my lips. For the reference I am NC 30. What I think is, that this colour would look the best on people with cooler skin tones like people who have wheatish skin tones or really pale skin tones.

Amplified finish is a perfect choice for winters! The creamy consistency of this lipstick keeps the lips hydrated and moisturised the entire time I'm wearing this lipstick. The colour is absolutely build able, the more you layer it on the bolder it becomes. It stays put on my lips for a good three to four hours straight with no intake of meals in between. With intake of meals it tends to feather away earlier. Has a tendency to bleed if not applied with a lip liner. Because of the creamy consistency, it is not transfer resistant.

Over-all I think Fast Play is not really my cup of tea but since I've bought it I have to use it and so I try to mix it with other lip colours at times and just waiting for it to end else it'll be lying in my make-up stash forever.

Points not in favour:
  • Appears brownish-plum on my Asian skin tone.
  • Makes my over all complexion appear dull.
  • The colour in the tube and the lip swatch doesn't co-relate.
  • Pricey.
  • Might not suit people with dark skin tones.

MAC Mocha Lipstick.

Hello beautiful readers! As you all know that we are celebrating MAC lipstick week on our blog, in which we are going to review a MAC lipstick everyday on our blog for this entire week! We have already reviewed five MAC lipsticks and today we're going to come up with another brilliant shade for you guys!

MAC lipstick to be reviewed today is "Mocha".

Before moving on with the review I would like to tell you that MAC lipsticks come in nine different finishes, which are as follows:

  1. Amplified
  2. Amplified Creme
  3. Cremesheen
  4. Frost
  5. Glaze
  6. Lustre
  7. Matte
  8. Retro Matte
  9. Satin

REVIEW:

Mocha is a Satin finish lipstick. This is the first Satin finish lipstick by MAC to be reviewed on our blog today. A satin lipstick offers great colour pay off with an almost but not quite, matte finish without being drying on the lips. As the opacity is high with this formulation, the wear time is also relatively good.

This lipstick comes in a black, hard plastic container with MAC printed on it in silver. Mocha is basically a Peach with brown undertones. It is one excellent nude colours MAC has come up with! Although I'm more of a pink, red and a coral person but when I first saw this shade online I knew it was the perfect nude for me. Most nude shades tend to make my overall complexion really pale for unknown reasons and I was expecting the same to some degree from Mocha too but it didn't let me down! I usually pair this lip colour with a black or brown smokey eye look and it enhances my overall look so well.

Satin finish is the best I swear. It is something in between Amplified finish and a Matte finish. It appears as a matte finish but at the same time it is not at all drying. Having said that I literally feel my lips are moisturised and hydrated the entire time I'm wearing this on my lips. This is my to-go-colour for winters!

I am someone who always thought browns are for the aged ones, hehe (No offense!). But after having this gorgeous peachy-brown colour my perception towards browns have changed. This is one magical colour which I believe would look the best on cooler skin tones. Although it matches my Asian skin tone very well too. For the reference I am NC 30. It can be worn during the day time as well as evening both. I wear it to school and formal occasions both.

The consistency of the lipstick is very creamy. And it glides onto my lips smoothly without putting any effort. The colour is 100% buildable. So make sure when you're applying it, because if you layer it on more it will show up more as a dark brown colour rather than a warm peachy brown. So it's up to you, how ever you like it. It is not transfer-resistant. Does not bleed if applied with a lip liner.

  • Travel friendly packaging.

  • Buildable colour.
  • Stays put on the lips for a good three to four hours provided no intake of meal in this between. With intake of meals, tends to feather away.
  • Hydrates and moisturises the lips.
  • Perfect nude colour for Winters.
  • Best for people with cooler skin tones.
  • Can be worn during day time and evening both.
  • Glides on to the lips very smoothly.

Points not in favour:

  • Not transfer resistant.
  • Tendency to bleed if not applied with a lip liner.
  • Pricey.

MAC Cosmo Lipstick.

Hello beautiful readers! As you all know that we are celebrating MAC lipstick week on our blog, in which we are going to review a MAC lipstick everyday on our blog for this entire week! We have already reviewed four MAC lipsticks and today we're going to come up with another brilliant shade for you guys!

MAC lipstick to be reviewed today is "Cosmo".

Before moving on with the review I would like to tell you that MAC lipsticks come in nine different finishes, which are as follows:

  1. Amplified
  2. Amplified Creme
  3. Cremesheen
  4. Frost
  5. Glaze
  6. Lustre
  7. Matte
  8. Retro Matte
  9. Satin.

REVIEW:

Cosmo is an Amplified Creme finish lipstick. So if a matte finish is not your cup of tea, I would definitely recommend you this or a Cremesheen.

This lipstick comes in a black, hard plastic container with MAC printed on it in silver. MAC describes Cosmo as "Pink Coco" which is pretty right. To describe this colour rightly I would say it is a Warm neutral pink with brown undertones. Now this is a perfect example of an everyday wear colour! This is one of those lipsticks that can be worn when we run out of options or cannot decide on which colour to wear.

Brown undertones of cosmo prevent it from appearing as purplish-pink on the lips. Cosmo shows up more of a neutral colour with a hint of pink and brown on my Asian skin tone. For the reference I am NC 30. Since I have brownish-pink lips this appears as neutral pink on my lips and looks just perfect. It is an ideal colour for everyday use. I usually wear it to school.

Since the formula of this lipstick is Amplified, it is buildable but I like to keep it light more towards the neutral pink look but one can always build up the colour for a more bold look. The creamy consistency of this lipstick keeps my lips hydrated and moisturised the entire time I am wearing this lipstick. Staying power of Cosmo I believe is not one of the longest. One reason might be because it is a lighter shade. The maximum it stayed put on my lips was around three hours without any intake of meals in between. With intake meals it tends to feather away even earlier. Also, it has a tendency to bleed if not applied with a lip liner.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this lipstick shade to everyone, being an ideal daily wear colour.

  6. Does not appear purplish-pink due to slight brown undertones.

  8. Best for day time.

  1.  Feathers away with meals.

MAC Impassioned Lipstick.

Hello beautiful readers! As you all know that we are celebrating MAC lipstick week on our blog, in which we are going to review a MAC lipstick everyday on our blog for this entire week! We have already reviewed three MAC lipsticks and today we're going to come up with another brilliant shade for you guys!

MAC lipstick to be reviewed today is "Impassioned".

Before moving on with the review I would like to tell you that MAC lipsticks come in nine different finishes, which are as follows:

  1. Amplified
  2. Amplified Creme
  3. Cremesheen
  4. Frost
  5. Glaze
  6. Lustre
  7. Matte
  8. Retro Matte
  9. Satin.

Review:

Impassioned in an Amplified Creme finish lipstick. What exactly does Amplified Creme finish means? These lipsticks give opaque coverage similar to the matte formula but are much less drying. They are very creamy and soft-textured lipsticks. Even though they have incredible coverage and opacity, they are not completely matte and they last for a long time too. So if a matte finish is not your cup of tea I would definitely suggest this or a Cremesheen finish.

This lipstick comes in a black, hard, plastic container with MAC printed on it in silver. This is the best water-melon pink I have ever come across! It is a pretty pink with red undertones. This is one of those colours which can suit all most all skin tones be it wheatish, Asian tones, olive tones to more dark skin tones. It is such an intense pink more towards neon pink but less glossy which is the best part. This lipstick is full of pigment, having said that even when the lip colour fades it leaves behind a gorgeous strawberry pink tint on my lips which looks so natural and pretty that one would never want to take it off their lips.

I usually wear this lipstick to school and it stays put on my lips the entire time am out! Even with frequent meals it tends to feather away slightly but it fades with a strawberry tint behind which does not look bad at all. The longest this lipstick has stayed on my lips was for seven hours straight with no re-application in between! Impassioned by MAC is a winner for me, as this colour enhances the over all  look on my face. This is one of those perfect colours which even if worn alone with no make-up will make your face look as pretty as anything.

I prefer wearing this colour during the day time mostly but can be worn during evenings too. It is ideal for summers, like I can wear this one colour the entire summer and trust me I would never get bored of my look, hehe! Although can also be used during winters as the colour can always be blotted down to a more subtle shade.

Since Impassioned is Amplified creme finish it does not dry out my lips at all. The entire time I'm wearing it, it keeps my lips hydrated and moisturised. Since the consistency is creamy it is not transfer resistant. The vanilla scent of this lipstick is divine like all other MAC lipsticks.

Over-all I would highly recommend this to all of you. This is one colour which will never let you down I'm sure! This is one of the finest lip colours by MAC. Three cheers for Impassioned!

MAC Pink Plaid Lipstick.

Hello beautiful readers! As you all know that we are celebrating MAC lipstick week on our blog, in which we are going to review a MAC lipstick everyday on our blog for this entire week! We have already reviewed two MAC lipsticks and today we're going to come up with another shade for you guys!

Third MAC lipstick to be reviewed today is "Pink Plaid".

Before moving on with the review I would like to tell you that MAC lipsticks come in nine different finishes, which are as follows:

  1. Amplified
  2. Amplified Creme
  3. Cremesheen
  4. Frost
  5. Glaze
  6. Lustre
  7. Matte
  8. Retro Matte
  9. Satin.

Review:

Pink Plaid is a matte finish lipstick. This lipstick comes in a black, hard plastic container with MAC printed on it in silver. Pinks are my favourite when it comes to lipsticks. I am always looking out for different pinks and by now I have a pretty good collection of pink lipsticks in my make-up stash. When I first saw this colour it appeared to me as one of those amazing every-day-pinks. And that is when before giving it a second thought I purchased it. Sadly this MAC pink did not show up that good of a colour on my lips as it seemed too, in other words did not meet my expectations of a gorgeous pink. Pink Plaid is a light pink with blue undertones (as suggested by MAC). It appears very pale on me and for this reason I cannot wear this lipcolour alone, like never! On my Asian skin tone Pink Plaid appears more as a nude-pink and over all I look really pale when wearing this lipcolour.  For the reference I am NC 30.

This is one of those lipsticks for which you cannot completely rely on the reviews and swatches online. You have to and have to try on this lipstick because in my view this lipstick will show up differently on different people. Therefore I apply Pink Plaid in combination with my other pink lipcolours to get the desired pink colour. I usually wear it with MAC's Chatter Box

As mentioned earlier, this is a matte finish lipstick. This is probably one of the finest matte lipsticks I have ever come across! If I draw a comparison between Color Studio Pure Matte collection to MAC's matte finish I think Pink Plaid turns out to be an amazing matte finish lipstick. First thing which comes to our minds when we hear the word "matte" is drying, right? This lipstick is not at all drying and yet matte at the same time! Even when I wear this lipcolour alone it never dries out my lips nor does it highlight the dry, cracked areas on my lips which is the worst side of a usual matte lipstick. Thus one can use this lipstick all year round be it summers or winters.

The longevity of this lipstick is pretty good. It stays put on my lips for a good 4-5 hours if I don't eat or drink in this between. With meals, it tends to feather away slightly. The vanilla scent of the lipstick is divine, like the rest of the MAC lipsticks. The consistency of the lipstick is creamy. Does not bleed out if applied with a lip liner. Colour pay off is pretty good too, I don't really have to struggle with getting the actual colour. Just a single swipe and am done!

Over-all I think I have better pinks and this is not one of my favourite MAC lipsticks. But I think the MAC's matte range is definitely worth a try if you are a matte lipstick lover! There are plenty of other options to choose from.

Points in Favour:

  • Travel friendly packaging.
  • Huge shade range
  • Colour pay off is good
  • Longest wearing time
  • Does not dry out my lips.
  • Does not highlight dry areas of the lips.

Points not in favour:

  • Colour of the lipstick is too light than the actual colour of the lipstick in the tube.
  • Appears pale on me.
  • Pricey.
  • Feathers away slightly after the meals.

Rate: I would rate this 3/5.

MAC Chatter Box Lipstick.

Hello beautiful readers! As you all know that we are celebrating MAC lipstick week on our blog, in which we are going to review a MAC lipstick everyday on our blog for this entire week! We have already reviewed one MAC lipstick and today we're going to come up with another brilliant shade for you guys!

The second lipstick by MAC to be reviewed today is "Chatter Box".

Before moving on with the review I would like to tell you that MAC lipsticks come in nine different finishes, which are as follows:

  1. Amplified
  2. Amplified Creme
  3. Cremesheen
  4. Frost
  5. Glaze
  6. Lustre
  7. Matte
  8. Retro Matte
  9. Satin.

Review:

Chatter Box is an Amplified Creme finish lipstick. Now the question stands that what exactly does Amplified Creme finish means? These lipsticks give opaque coverage similar to the Matte formula, but are much less drying. The are very creamy and soft-textured lipsticks. Amplified and Amplified Creme fall in the same category. Even though they have incredible coverage and opacity, they are not completely matte and they last a long time too. So if a Matte finish is not your cup of tea, I would definitely opt for this or a Cremesheen finish.

This lipstick comes in a black, hard plastic container with MAC printed on it in silver. When you look at the colour it seems to be the best, perfect barbie pink! This is one thing which made me fall for this colour, it was more of a love-at-the-first-site with this shade. But when I applied it, it did not show up as that perfect gorgeous pink. It looked more of purplish-pink. Although I still like the colour but it did not really show up as a perfect barbie pink on my Asian skin tone. For the reference I am NC 30.

Texture of this lipstick is SUPER creamy! It is one of those lipstick which will almost never dry out your lips. The formula is perfect for dry, cold weather where a prior lip balm application becomes so important. Of what I think the basic difference between a Cremesheen finish and an Amplified finish is that Cremesheen is more towards giving a glossy look although the formula is the same i.e. smooth and creamy. Since the consistency is creamy so it is not transfer-resistant.

Chatter Box is a pretty, summer, spring colour! I have been wearing it all summer and it looks the best with either nude eyes or smokey eyes. I usually wear it to school as it is best for day-time. The longevity of this lipstick is pretty good too. It lasts on my lips through-out the day if I don't take meals in between. With frequent meals in between it tends to feather away. Also, since the consistency of this lipstick is creamy it might bleed at times but that can be prevented with the use of a lip liner.

MAC Chatter Box Swatched.

Price and Availability: Can be bought from Naheed's Supermarket, Agha's Supermarket, EBCO located at the Forum. Worth 2700Pkr.

Points in favour:

  • Travel friendly packaging
  • Huge shade range
  • Colour pay off is amazing, does not have to struggle with getting the actual colour. Swipe it across your lips once and you're done.
  • Stays put on the lips for a good 4-5hours with no need of re-application in between.
  • Hydrates and moisturises the lips.
  • Best for day-time

Points not in favour:
  • Does not appear as a perfect barbie-pink on my lips. Appears more as purplish-pink.
  • Tendency to bleed if not applied with a lip liner.
  • Pricey.
  • Not transfer resistant.
  • Feathers away with intake of meals.

Rate: I would rate this 4/5.
