Abbamart Beau Make Brushes.

Hello pretty readers. Today for the first time I will be reviewing makeup brushes on my blog! Excited? We are too. Makeup brushes make the most important part of the daily makeup routine. They are a hygienic way of applying makeup. Right brushes are as important as right makeup. So one shouldn't at all compromise when it comes to the makeup brushes.

Today I will be reviewing Abbamart Beau Make Brushes.

Angled Toray Contour Brush:

What is the product description?

* Wide, angled powder blush brush made with plush and thick Toray hair

* Angled cut aids in natural shading and blending when contouring cheeks with bronzer and blush, or highlighting with shimmer

*Soft and gentle, non-irritating even on sensitive skin

* Thick natural wooden handle

Total length: 16.5 cm

Hair length: 3.5 cm

Review:

This brush has a thick, yellow coloured handle to it. Which has Beau Make printed on it in black.
First I would like to tell you what exactly is Toray hair. Toray hair is the best quality hair in the synthetic fibre. The hair retains the original shape after use and give correct degree of strength and spring.

I use this brush for two different purposes. Mostly I use it to apply my blusher. And secondly I use it to put highlighter. So basically I use this brush for dual function. Although I'm not a bronzer person but if one wants, they can use it to apply their bronzer powder too using this brush.
The angled-cut of this brush makes it easy to apply the powder blusher. Swirl this brush in your blusher pan and just sweep it diagonally across your cheek bones and you are done! It picks up nice amount of the product and you do not have to struggle with picking up the amount of product you want, which is in turn very good as this way the blusher pan doesn't end up becoming messy. The handle of this brush is firm enough and fits perfectly in my hands and is easy to hold as well as easy to use.

I have washed this brush multiple times by now and the quality of the brush hair is still the same. I haven't noticed any shedding of the brush hair. Over-all it is a great brush especially for the beginners out there!

Sable Lip Brush:

What is the product description?

* Basic style lip brush with short handle made from durable, fine natural sable hair

* Use with lip gloss, lipstick and liner to neatly define and contour lip shape

* Applying lipstick with a brush uses less of your product so it lasts longer

* Natural wood handle

Total length: 9.5 cm

Ferrule size: 0.6 pi

Review:

This is a small brush with a short, yellow coloured wooden handle with Beau Make printed on it in black. The brush hair has a pointed end which is good for the precise application of the lip colour. But I believe it is too small to pick up an average amount of product at one go and so it takes time to apply the lip colour when using this brush. The handle is firm enough although a bit too short but fits in my palms perfectly and not to hard to use.

I have washed this brush once till now and I haven't noticed any shedding of the brush hair nor has the quality of hair changed.

Small Sable Eyeshadow Brush:

What is the product description?

* Eyeshadow brush made from genuine natural sable

* Wide head is perfect for spreading base eye colour

* Blends and shades different tones of eyeshadow

* Use to highlight the eyebrow arch and the inner eye area

Total length: 9.5 cm Ferrule size: 0.6 pi

Review:

This is a small brush with a short, yellow coloured wooden handle with Beau Make printed on it in black. I haven't used this brush much because of its small size. Mostly I use this brush for applying highlighter on my brow bone and the inner corners of my eyes as these areas require only small amount of products and so I use this brush for precise application of the highlighter in these areas. Other than that I have used it a few times for blending of my eye shadows and it does it pretty well. But since the brush is short one might not be comfortable using it for the purpose of blending eye shadows.

I have washed this brush once and did not notice any shedding of the brush hair.

Over-all I think these are a good budget friendly brushes. Abbamart has a huge huge range of brushes for face, body, cheeks, eyes and lips and you have a variety of options to choose from! Link to the Abbamart website is Here.

  • Brush hair does not shed after washing.

  • Can be easily washed.
  • Does not cause any kind of irritation to the face.
  • Good for beginners.

Points not in favour:

Rating: I would rate these brushes 4/5.

Oriflame Feet Up Reviving Foot spray.

Hello beautiful readers! One cannot obviously live without body sprays, body mists and perfumes. I mean honestly who doesn't like to smell good at all the times, all of us want to right? But how many of us actually have the same views for our feet? Smelly feet is something which strongly turns me off! I couldn't resist when I found out about Oriflame's Feet Up Reviving Foot Spray and bought it right away!

So today I will be reviewing Oriflame Feet Up Reviving Foot Spray.

What does Oriflame say about this foot spray?

Answer: Instantly cool your feet and keep them fresh and deodorised with odour-fighting technology and a delightful scent. With Eucalyptus Oil to naturally deodorise and Mint to fresh. Use anytime on your feet or inside shoes.

Review:

This foot spray comes in a 150ml, white bottle with a plastic cap on the top. The idea of this spray is basically to keep our feet fresh and smelling good after an entire day at work, school, job or whatever. I am someone who prefers wearing socks most of the times to the school. And when after an entire day you take them off your feet, the smell of the sweat just turns you off doesn't it? Although it is not that strong but yes it is weird and irritating for most of us. This is where this Foot spray comes in action.

The fragrance of this foot spray is more like minty. The smell literally turns me on, it is like so fresh and pleasant that one wants to put more and more of this spray. I spray my feet every morning before wearing my socks. And after I get back home and take off my socks I can literally smell the minty fragrance on my socks. So yes it stays for a good time period. Although obviously we cannot smell our feet to check but the good part is that the feet doesn't smell bad if not good either. This spray in my view neutralises all the bad odour on my feet and keeps them as fresh as after a bath!

Our feet make up an important part of our body and they need and deserve special care and attention too and so I will definitely recommend you to buy this spray. I will buy this foot spray again once this bottle finishes.

Price and Availability: I bought this spray via an Oriflame consultant. This is her Facebook page Link, do check it out. Original price 699Pkr, currently this foot spray is on sale, worth 595Pkr. The sale will last till 31st December 2013. So I suggest stocking up this spray before the sale ends!

Points in favour:

  • Travel friendly packaging.
  • Easy to use.
  • Keeps the feet fresh all day long.
  • Neutralises any foul odour on our feet.
  • Minty fragrance.
  • Reasonable price.

Points not in favour:

  • Can only be purchased via an Oriflame consultant. Not available at local drug stores.

Rate: I will rate this foot spray 4.6/5

The Body Shop Coconut Body and Lip Butter Duo.

Hello gorgeous readers. How have you all been? Winters are officially here and right now I'm down with flu and fever! Weather change is so annoying at times! But since it's weekend I had to write a post for you guys.

Today I will be reviewing The Body Shop Coconut Body and Lip Butter Duo.

Review:

Coconut Body Butter:

The butter comes in a dark-brown coloured 50ml jar. The packaging is completely travel friendly, one can easily carry this with them everywhere without the fear of the spillage of the product. Although I don't favour jar packaging much as the product is exposed to contamination. When I first opened the jar it wasn't completely filled with the butter. I was shocked thinking why is it not completely filled. Since this is my first body butter from TBS I wasn't aware that body butter jars aren't completely filled. It is then later on when I searched and read about it on the Internet that I found body butter jars are not completely filled, say they are 3/4th filled.

The smell of the body butter is almost near to that of the real coconuts. And it smells delicious! Coconut lovers wouldn't resist it. The formula of the butter is creamy. I usually apply it on my upper limbs and lower limbs. It absorbs really well in to the skin. Initially I feared, it will make my skin really greasy and sticky but to my surprise it proved me wrong. It does not at all make my skin feel greasy and so it can be used in summers as well as winters both.
The formula of the butter is very hydrating. My skin feels baby soft and smooth after the application of the butter. Mostly I apply it before going to bed so that the butter stays over night. Overall it is a good remedy for dry, scaly skin over the limbs and rest of the body.
The butter will not last for longer than 2 months in my view as a lot of quantity is needed at one go.

Coconut Lip Butter:

This lip butter like other TBS lip butters come in a small 10ml pot which is dark-brown coloured. The packaging is travel friendly, I usually carry it with me in my cosmetic pouch. Although jar packaging lead to contamination of the product thus I prefer tube packaging over these, especially for the lip related products.
In comparison to the body butter the fragrance of this lip butter is too artificial. It does not at all smell like real coconuts which is a bit of a disappointment.

The lip butter does not work as a dry-lip-therapy, meaning it does not heal my dry cracked lips. It provides hydration to my lips only when I have applied the butter over my lips. I couldn't appreciate the results of this lip butter as much as like my lips being smooth and soft. The moment I take it off or it dries up, my lips go back to being dry. So I did not find this lip butter of much use. I don't think I will be buying this lip butter again. Although in this case I got the body and the lip butter together as a duo.
The quantity of the lip butter is enough to be lasted for a good four to five months.
For a comparative review, read my review on The Body Shop Mango Lip Butter Here.

Price and Availability:  I brought this product online from a facebook page, Lush Grooming Bargains. Worth 750Pkr. Quite a bargain, no? Do check out this page for tempting offers and discounts.

Points in favour:

  • Packaging for both butters is completely travel friendly.
  • Body butter is very hydrating to the skin.
  • The fragrance of the body butter is near to those of real coconuts and is divine. A definite treat for coconut lovers.
  • Quantity of the lip butter is enough to be lasted for a good four to five months.
  • Reasonable price.

Points not in favour:

  • Jar packaging can lead to contamination of the product.
  • Body butter is not completely filled in the jar. It is filled 3/4th only. Thus it would not last longer than two months.
  • Smell of the lip butter is a bit too artificial.
  • Lip butter does not heal dry lips. Does not work as a lip treatment.

Rate: I would rate this product 3/5.

Avon Super Shock Mascara.

For the first time on my blog I'll be reviewing a mascara. Mascara makes up an essential part of our daily make up routine. May it be school, college, job, shopping, visit to a friend or anything of the sort, without a mascara our look is incomplete. Most of the times we do not have time for eye makeup and or even a liner and so we just end up putting our mascara and we are done! That's how essential a mascara is to all the makeup lovers out there!

Today I will be reviewing the most raved about, Avon Super Shock Mascara.

What does Avon say about this mascara?
Answer:  Available in Black only. Get yourself some extreme volume! Thickening base coat and volumizing mascara in one. Up to 12X more volume. All AVON mascaras are hypoallergenic and ophthalmologist-tested.

Review:

Avon's Super Shock Mascara comes in a beautiful pink coloured, 10ml container. The packaging is truly adorable. I mean how many pink coloured packaging, mascaras do we get to see? Not much right. The wand/ applicator is firm and fits perfectly in my hands. The applicator does not bend unnecessarily, a problem I faced frequently in the past with other mascara wands. I believe a mascara wand should be firm enough so that application of mascara becomes easier. The wand has short bristles which are perfect to create lengthy lashes.

Before moving on with the review I would want to tell you guys a few things that I look for in a mascara:

  1. Lengthening of the lashes
  2. Volumizing of the lashes
  3. No clumping of the lashes together
  4. No smudging of the mascara
  5. Should not flake
  6. Should be easily removed with water.

Avon's Super Shock Mascara pretty much full fills most of the above mentioned criteria.
The lengthening effect of this mascara is pretty good. I wouldn't say it's really shocking as the name says. I usually have to use multiple strokes to get the desired lengthy lashes.

Mascaras which clump together the lashes turns me off majorly. This mascara does it's job well by mostly not clumping my lashes and lengthens them separately. The voluminous effect of this mascara is not as great as it should be. I don't find much volume in my lashes after I wear this mascara so I would not agree with Avon's claim that it brings extreme volume to the lashes.
Although this is not a water-proof mascara but I have never seen it smudging like never! It is as good as a water proof mascara. No matter how bad I would sweat, this mascara never lets me down by smudging around my eye area. Also, I have not noticed any flaking effect of this mascara.
It is ideal for everyday use. I wear it to school mostly and it stays all day long. So the wearing time of the mascara is a good 7-8hours which is great.
In the past I had trouble with taking off my previous mascaras as they would literally get stuck to my lashes but I did not face any such trouble with Avon's Super Shock mascara. It gets washed away with water and my cleanser very easily. And I completely love this quality about it.
The quantity of the mascara would last for a pretty good 4-5months.

Picture a,b and c: With Avon's Super Shock Mascara.
Picture d: Without Avon's Super Shock Mascara.
(Note: I haven't used an eye-lash curler prior to the application of the mascara)

Price and Availability: I bought this mascara on line from a facebook page Lush Grooming Bargains. Worth 599Pkr.

Points in favour:

  • Packaging is travel friendly.
  • Mascara wand/applicator is firm which helps in the right application of the mascara.
  • Lengthens the lashes pretty well.
  • Does not clump the lashes.
  • Does not smudge.
  • Easily washed away with water.
  • Lasts for a good 4-5months.
  • Good for everyday use.
  • Price is very reasonable.

Points not in favour:

  • Does not have a good voluminous effect to the lashes.
  • Not available at local drug stores. Can only be bought online.

Rating: I would rate this product 4.7/5
