REVIEW:

ELF studio blushes come in eleven different shades. That's pretty huge range of colours to choose from. Today I will be reviewing Elf Blush in Candid Coral. As stated before, Corals are my favourite. Lets see if this one met my expectations or not.

To begin with, the blusher comes in a 4.75gram, black, hard plastic pan with an in built mirror. So the packaging gets a 5/5 from me!

Now the pigmentation, I was heart broke to see that this blush was not as pigmented as I was expecting it to be. Not one not two not even three strokes were enough, imagine!! :/ So I had to use multiple strokes to get the desired flush on my cheeks. And by multiple I mean more than three strokes! Having said this, I'm afraid this blush will not show up on darker skin tones. I am NC 25-30 & and it took me more than three strokes to get the desired colour. On paler skin tones, it would definitely show up as an awesome coral.

This is not a matte blush. So not a go-to-product for matte blush lovers. It has this very fine, gold micro-glitter particles to it. Which can also be seen with the naked eye. The blush shows up as beautiful peachy-orange colour on the face with a gorgeous gold sheen! Its like a blush-highlighter-duo! How cool is that? :D

Since it has a lot of shimmer/glitter to it, it can highlight the pores and other flaws.
While applying this blush it gets a bit messy as there is a lot of fall out in the pan. Something which I loathe about blushes. I apply this blush with my Real Technique Blush Brush.

This blush can be best worn with Black smokey eyes & nude lips. Since this blush has gold micro-glitter to it, one can wear it as a highlighter too. I think this blush is too fancy to be worn during the day. Fancy because of the glitter/shimmer it contains.

In a nut-shell I think there are better corals available in the market with better pigmentation. For a comparative review, read my views on Luscious Cosmetics Peach Melba Blush here

SpectraBAN SC Sun Screen.

Sun screens are a must have product. This is one product which is common in EVERY makeup stash! If you are someone with an oily or combination skin type and struggling hard to find one good sunscreen which doesn't make you look like having a oil drenched face then keep reading, this might end your search..

Today I will be reviewing Stiefel's SpectraBAN Sunscreen.
The review will be brief & to the point.

What does this product claim?

  • For oily/combination skin type.
  • Non-Comedogenic.
  • Hypoallergenic.
  • Non-Greasy.
  • Paraben free.
  • Water resistant.
  • Perfume free.

Review:

  • The product comes in a 45ml, white coloured hard plastic bottle. With a pump on the top to take out the product.
  • You can carry the bottle in your bag with you since the packaging is travel-friendly.
  • It has SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 40.
  • The consistency of the product is gel-like. It is not creamy or liquid as most of the sunscreens we use are. I found this to be a plus point since wearing liquid and creamy products in this terribly hot weather is awful.
  • The product claims that the gel like formula of this sunscreen is specially designed to control sebum, as it contains unique Micro pore Structures. I agree to their claim of sebum control to some degree. But not completely since my nose does show a bit of oil after a few hours. But, that shouldn't be an issue. Oil prone skin is suppose to be that way only.
  • After the application of this sunscreen, the product absorbs in to my skin REAL fast. Also, I do not get that tacky, sticky feeling on my face at all.
  • There is no weird fragrance to this product.
  • Did not cause me any kind of irritation or any breakouts (thankfully).
  • Also, what I have noticed is that this product makes a pretty good base for makeup too. Like usually I don't like wearing makeup over a sunscreen, because of the stickiness that particular sunscreen causes. But this product does not at all make my skin greasy.
  • After wearing this sunscreen it feels like nothing is on my face. Its like feeling my skin. So basically this product lets my skin breathe!
  • I would not say that this is my HG sunscreen since the sunscreen I was using previously Sun Off Plus Sun Screen, was SUPER mattifying! But this product is the second best.
  • I bought this product around seven months back for around 1900Pkr. This could be a bit turn off since it's tad bit expensive.
  • I bought this product from Kausar Medicos, Clifton, Karachi. But can be bought from any local drug store or pharmacy across the country.

Points in favour:

  • Good for oily and combination skin type.
  • Keeps oil at bay.
  • Does not cause any irritation or breakouts.
  • No perfumed fragrance.
  • Makes a pretty good base for makeup.
  • Absorbs in to the skin really quick.
  • Does not make face look like a grease ball.
  • Easily available.
  • Travel friendly packaging.

Points not in favour:

  •  Tad bit expensive.
  • May over dry skin if you already have a dry skin type.

Luscious Powder Blush: Peach Melba!

What does Luscious say about this product?

A velvety smooth and blendable formula perfect adding a pop of color to your complexion. Use it to brighten, enhance, contour and define the shape of your face.Available in a collection of highly pigmented matte and shimmer shades that can be worn separately or layered together to create seductive depth.

Review:

The product comes in a 6 grams, silver, hard plastic pan with a transparent lid which enables the colour of the blusher to be seen. Luscious Powder blushes come in total 8 shades. That's pretty good range of colours to choose from.
Peach Melba is a perfect Coral coloured blush. It has tiny golden micro glitter particles if you see it carefully. But the blush does not show up glittery on the cheeks, rather as a beautiful gold sheen which is a plus point. I agree with the luscious claim that the blush powder is finely milled, does not at all appear chalky on the cheeks or hard to blend.
I use this blush with my Real Techniques Blush Brush. The blush is extremely pigmented. So a small amount would be enough to get the desired colour on cheeks.
Also, fortunately I haven't noticed much of the fall out of the product in the pan. This means very less mess! So thumbs up for that.
I usually wear this blush during evening or nights. Although you can wear it to work or university too. Best worn with nude lips and dark smokey eyes! Or you can wear it with a pink pout and plain eyes (with a liner on).

Price & Availability:

I bought this blush from Aghas Supermarket, Karachi Pakistan. Can be bought from local drug stores. Or you can also buy it online from the Luscious website itself, here or from Just4Girls.pk. Worth 675Pkr. US $6.97.

Points in Favour:

  • Blends easily.
  • Does not appear chalky on face.
  • No major fall-out of the product in the pan.
  • Travel friendly packaging.
  • Product will last for a good amount of time.
  • Super pigmented. Only a small amount is needed at one go.
  • Light on pocket (Super affordable).
Points not in favour:

  • It has tiny golden micro-glitter particles. which can be a turn off if you have large pores.

Review:
Availed the Hydra-facial deal at Pengs. I reached ten minutes before the appointment time. Was taken in within five minutes. Staff was very welcoming & down to earth. This girl named Amber did my facial. Facial room was clean, tidy and neat. Gown which was given to me was clean too, no stains no marks nothing. Place was SUPER hygienic & peaceful. Facial lasted for around one complete hour. Amber knew her work really well, I was pretty relaxed the entire time. Also, she gave me an amazing shoulder, arms, upper back & head massage! It was super effective & relaxing and honestly I didn't want it to end, ever! Hehe. Over-all it was worth every penny!
Also, today was the last day to avail this deal (sadly) as told by their receptionist. BUT the deal will be available AGAIN from 1st to 13th August. So yaay!
And, no I did not get this deal from dealtoday or lootlo.pk or any of those websites. It was sold out on these websites already. When I called up Pengs for an appointment earlier, they told me I can avail the deal without buying it from dealtoday. So for everyone who wanted to avail this deal but couldn't, they can directly go to Pengs, avail this deal and pay them directly! Cool, no? :D
