REVIEW:
Oriflame Giordani Gold Lipstick comes in altogether 15 shades to choose from. I will be reviewing shade: "True Red".
This lipstick comes in a silver metallic case, with Giordani Gold logo printed on the top of the cover. The very first thing that caught my attention was the metallic casing of this product, which makes it stand out of the rest of the lipsticks in my makeup stash.
True Red has more of a glossy finish rather than a satin finish in my opinion. As you can appreciate the single swatch of True Red in the picture above, this colour is not very opaque. It is more like a coloured gloss rather than a satin finish lipstick for me. Although, layering helps build the intensity of the colour and makes it somewhere close to a bright red lipstick. The texture of this lipstick is creamy because of which it keeps my lips hydrated and doesn't stick to dry lines on my lips, which is good. This actually saved me the trouble of hydrating or prepping my lips prior to the lipstick application. Also, something that caught my attention while reading the description was that, these lipsticks have Argon Oil to it which helps regenerate new cells on the lips making them look healthy and nourished.
I'm not happy with the staying power of this lipstick. Maximum it stayed on me as it is was, for around two and a half hours or so. But the moment I drink or eat it almost vanishes from my lips and I have to re-apply it.
One thing that I immediately noticed about this lipstick was it's very very strong fragrance. I don't really know how to describe it to you guys but it's kind of a very sweet fragrance and is very strong. At one point it becomes really bothersome, feels like I have perfumed lips or something.
I don't agree with the shade name much because the colour is not a True Red in real. It has slight pink undertones and is more like a pinkish red. I have swatch-ed it with MAC's Russian Red and Brave Red for a quick comparison of the colour.

Price & Availability: Worth PKR 1299. Can be bought online from Just4Girls.Pk or you can also buy these lipsticks and other Oriflame products via Oriflame representatives. Not available at local drug stores in Pakistan.

  3. Packaging is good & travel friendly
  4. Keeps my lips moist & hydrated. Good for use in winters.
  5. Contains Argon Oil, which helps nourishes the lips making them look healthy.

Points not in Favour:

  1. Lipstick does not stay put for long on my lips.
  2. It's not transfer resistant.
  3. Has a very strong sweet fragrance to it which can be irritating.
  4. The colour is not very opaque. More like a coloured lip gloss.
  5. This red is not one of the best red lipsticks.Appears more of a pinkish red.

Oriflame Sun-Zone Sunscreen (UV protector Face & Exposed Areas).

Sunscreens are a must-have! This scorching heat literally kills our skin cells & causes so much damage. Never ever step out without your sunscreen on, no matter how late you're getting!

What does Oriflame say about this product?
Effective high protection for sun-sensitive skin. Formulated with softening and moisturising actives. Fast-absorbing texture. Water-resistant. 50 ml.

Review:

This sunscreen comes in a 50ml white coloured tube, with orange cap. It has Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 50, which is pretty good. Product claims to be dermatologically tested so I believe it's safe for people with sensitive skin too.

The consistency of the product is not entirely creamy I'd say as it tends to get runny at times, so it's between creamy and liquid. The first thing we notice about a product is it's smell, this sunscreen has a mild fragrance to it I'd say. It's not irritating though or bothersome & goes away in a matter of few minutes.

The product initially after application, does make my skin sticky. So I'd not completely agree with the it's claim that its non-sticky. BUT it does not make my face greasy! So that's a plus point. It later on gets absorbed gradually and settles without much stickiness. I have combination skin type with excessively oily T-zone, so after sometime I can clearly see a shinning nose & chin, but I'd put the blame for this on this awful weather conditions! But in my opinion this sunscreen is not the best option for people with oily skin types. They need something which is more mattifying & more quickly absorbed into the skin. One does not need to moisturise skin after applying this sunscreen since it acts as a pretty good moisturiser on its own.

The sunscreen does not cause un-neccessary pigmentation on my face. Sunscreens which bring a fake white cast are a major turn off for me. And am glad that this one doesn't fit in that category. Ideal sunscreens should have no pigmentation at all & this product full-fills this criteria.

This sunscreen claims to give protection against both UVA & UVB radiations. What exactly are UVA & UVB radiations? And why is protection against them so important?
Ultra Violet rays that are harmful to our skin our of two types i.e. UVA and UVB. And both are harmful to us. A broad-spectrum sunscreen is designed to protect our skin from both these types of UV-rays.
Overall I like this product & would recommend it to people with dry and combination skin types.
