Color Studio Invincible Compact Powder

I am going to be reviewing one of my favourite everyday products today and that is the Color Studio Professional Invincible Compact Powder.

What does Color Studio say about this product?
Answer: The Invincible All-Day Waterproof and Heat-Proof Powder Compact provides all day matte coverage even through excessive oil and shine. The humidity and heat resistant powder repels against water and sweat, the leading causes of foundation transfers and fading. The velvety smooth texture applies flawlessly on the skin for a matt finish complexion. The soft, light-weight powder is finely milted for a complete medium to full coverage, packaged with a specially designed puff for maximum powder application to reduce shine and oil without giving you a cakey effect.

REVIEW:
I have totally fallen for this product! Before moving on to the review I would tell you the basic things that I look for in a compact powder.
  • It should be near-to-exact-match for my skin tone
  • Should be transfer resistant
  • It should not make my face look yellow or pale
  • It should not make my face look cakey
  • It should be fragrance free
  • It should have a good staying power
  • It should be sweat proof
  • It should be able to control shine on my face for a good three to four hours
And to my surprise all these qualities are there in this one compact powder! This is my absolute favourite product. I cannot imagine being without this product anymore. So when its near to being finished I'll stock it up.

This powder comes in four shades: Transparent, Indian Pink, Beige and Silk Beige. Although it is not a very big range but the shades range from transparent to yellow undertones to pink undertones, so in my view most of you will definitely find a good match for yourself.

I bought this powder in shade Indian Pink. Although it has slight pink undertones but it is a near to a perfect match for my skin tone. I am NC 25 and this shade doesn't bring a fake white look nor does it make my skin look really tan. Another closest match for NC 25 skin can be this powder in shade transparent. Beige would be a good match for people with yellow undertones.

Packaging of the product:
The packaging is totally awesome! It comes in a black hard plastic flip-on-pan. The pan includes a mirror and a puff applicator. Now how many local drug store compact powders come with a built in mirror and a puff applicator? Not many right? So this compact powder is a winner for me in terms of the packaging! It is completetly travel friendly and you can easily carry it around with you in your makeup bag.

I use this compact powder everyday. The coverage is not really heavy its light to medium. My skin does not feel heavy or fancy after the application of this compact powder which means it lets my skin breathe and I love this quality about this powder.

I apply this product over my sunscreen and face primer and it stays all day long (I leave my house around 9 in the morning and am home by 3) which is really cool because it survives the scorching heat and humidity of Karachi. If applied without a face primer it stays for a good three to four hours. So basically I don't need frequent touch ups with this powder. You can either apply it alone for an every-day-look or can apply it over your foundation as a setting-powder.

Another thing I love about this product is that it doesn't transfer. Products which are not transfer resistant really turn me off and am always running away from them. But this product proves to be transfer resistant! It does not have any weird fragrance which again is good. Compact powders should be fragrance free. Even if they smell good they shouldn't really smell at all because they might end up causing facial irritation.

The powder keeps my face shine free for a good three to four hours but an exception to this is my T-zone which obviously couldn't be kept shine free for this long because I have a very oily T-zone but then again thats okay because I don't think any product can keep my T-zone shine free for long so I wouldn't whine about it, hehe. It is good for people who have combination skin as well as oily skin. Not sure if it will suit people with dry skin because it may higlight the dry areas on their face.

I use this powder with the puff applicator which came with this powder and with my Real Techniques buffing brush. Also sometimes I use it with my MUA F4 Powder brush when I  need a very light coverage. This powder has a buildable coverage.
All in all I completely love this compact powder and its my everyday love.

  1. Could it also hide freckles? Is it perfect for those individuals with sensitive skin? Thanks a lot for sharing this great review.

    1. It's a light coverage compact powder, so it's not good at hiding freckles and other moderate to severe flaws. For that you will need a medium to heavy coverage foundation or a BBcream. Yes it's perfect for people with sensitive skin too. Your welcome :)
